AGROSTROJ makes a record acquisition and takes over STOLL, one of the world's leading manufacturers of front loaders for the agricultural industry.

The owner and CEO of AGROSTROJ Pelhřimov, a.s., Lubomír Stoklásek fulfils a lifelong dream and acquires Wilhem STOLL Maschinenfabrik GmbH. The STOLL Group, headquartered in Lengede, has two of its own production facilities in Germany and one each in Poland and the USA. With around 600 employees and a worldwide sales and distributor set-up, STOLL has a turnover of 120 million euros. AGROSTROJ has been the new owner of the STOLL Group, which was founded in 1878 and is steeped in tradition, since 20 July 2021.

"I didn't think about it for long, it's not my style. It was a great opportunity to significantly expand our own business portfolio and to take over STOLL, an established brand in the front loader business. We worked on it for almost 2 years and last Tuesday we closed the deal in Düsseldorf," says Lubomír Stoklásek.

With a worldwide production of around 22,000 units, STOLL is the world's second largest manufacturer of agricultural front loaders as well as an extensive range of accessories to support farmers in their daily work. On the seller's side was a German investment group that specialises in the acquisition and further development of medium-sized companies in the DACH region and had acquired STOLL from the Danish family-owned company Freudendahl in February 2013.

"As part of a long-term strategy, the focus is on developing our own products that support the existing business with OEM partners. The acquisition of STOLL fits ideally with our strategic plan and holds great synergy potential for both companies," explains Lubomír Stoklásek, who is one of the 100 richest Czechs according to Forbes and has won the title "EY Entrepreneur of the Year". The AGROSTROJ Group is one of the largest Czech industrial groups and is firmly in family hands.

Mr Stoklásek is not planning any major changes at STOLL. The current management will be retained and STOLL customers can continue to rely on the highest STOLL product quality and STOLL service. With the takeover of STOLL, AGROSTROJ is acquiring a brand that is firmly established with the farmer and can also be a door opener for new partners from the agricultural environment. AGROSTROJ is a long-term partner in the commercial vehicle as well as agricultural industry and well-known companies such as DAF, Volvo, Scania as well as John Deere, Krone or Kuhn are among its customers. "STOLL's great innovation potential and excellent technical and design expertise will give AGROSTROJ a completely new position in future long-term cooperation with our partners," adds AGROSTROJ Sales Manager Jaroslav Habáň. For STOLL, the acquisition into the family-owned company AGROSTROJ offers a long-term partnership and future-oriented development perspective. This year, AGROSTROJ is aiming for a turnover of around 250 million euros with 2,700 employees without STOLL. Together, the two companies are expected to achieve a turnover of around 370 million euros.
